Dr B 186
Good chat. A sub 12ft-lbs air rifle is, in the right hands, more than powerful enough to dispatch the bunnies out to 50-60yds and beyond. I personally cant shoot any where near that far, but if you do the math, programmes like "Chairgun" will tell you how much energy your pellet is carrying and you only need 4ft-lbs to penetrate the rabbit skull and splat the brain. Of course, its completely dependent on being accurate, as it is at all ranges, which is the real key. By all means go FAC, but for different reasons. I'm pretty sure Simon (Pianoman) has stories of rabbits running off from his FAC....or from what he has seen with others. Edited May 17, 2015 by Dr B Quote Link to post

tomburras 2,730
Sounds a great permission enjoy! ferreting in the winter is also a great way to keep numbers down and is a great side line sport in itself. Wish you all the best with your new land. Quote Link to post
