Zero A Scope

Recommended Posts

If you don't want any hold under (where your point of impact will be higher than the centre of your crosshairs) then 25 is a good bet. I prefer it this way less to think about but you will need to calculate more drop for longer range shots. 30 is good if your scope is pretty high

30 metres for .22 is the optimum distance. Set up a series of targets at ranges you are likely to see rabbits pop out of hedge rows and the like and try practicing on these to see precisely where your shots at this zero-range distance are falling over varying ranges..

For my set up (S410, AA fields, .22), Chairgun says 29yds is the optimal zero. However, I prefer to zero at 28yds as the pellet rises less through the mid-distance giving me better accuracy across the range. I have a report on here somewhere - so please check it out.

With my scope set to x7, its one mil-dot down for a perfect zero at 40yds and just a tab more than 2 mil-dots for 50yds. Very intuitive.
