MoChara 1,632
I've the janoel 48 auto turner, it's a pain in the arse humidity wise but temps usually held ok, conditions outdoors affected it the hot 2 weeks last summer made it spike (lucky I've a warning beeper if it spikes/drops) so got it in time it spiked to 38.6 I think you'll be fine with those ranges they aren't going hugely over/below. Is it weather conditions effecting it possibly? Some folk think it doesn't happen but it bloody well does What's your humidity at? Is it steady
devon flighter 421
yes i recon it is the weather as well ! thats what bought about the question ,it normally stays much more stable , there are no alarms on mine ,humidity wise its stable its about 25% in the incy (trying a dry hatch) and 35-40% in the room , the air gap is about what i expected size wise though i haven't resorted to weighing
Chicken_man 1,651
Devon, A lot depends on the site/situation of the incubator. Ideally your looking for an even room temp, with not too many temp fluctuations. Eggs are naturally cooled when the hen leaves the nest, and she would regulate higher temps better. It sounds like your incubator is up and down a bit. I find the fan assisted one's have to be around 37.5, I have mine alarmed at .2 deg for high temp. Still air on the other hand I have set at 38 deg, with good results. The hatchings this yr have been dry. Even temps are the best imho, but that can be difficult I know. Find the best spot to place the incubator, with even temp, works for me. Broody is best though. Breed from your best broody. Atb
