jimgt206 108
The voorburg croppers look nice. Lovely very tame birds ,especialy the hens .good parents .quite alot of mismarks though .have grease quills so blacks n reds have very good sheen. Not best of flyers but very active strutting round. jimgt206 108
Was they flying birds mate, or kept in and bred for shows?[/quote When i started everything flew out . As i got more serious best n stock had aviaries. Had german n dutch imports spent too much to lose them! done lots of shows all over and did well with them.
gnasher16 29,791
Must admit i cant abide all that show malarky with birds any more than with dogs......just dont sit right with me but each to their own im sure they are happy healthy animals in their own way. jimgt206 108
Good social side to it very friendly and because there isnt big money prizes etc you dont get the agro like racing .burnt out lofts thefts etc. Come from long line of "show people" dogs canaries budgies ,rabbits guinea pigs .get satisfaction when you breed something worth showing to other people,be it new colour ,type etc. Also the shows are a good place to see something new ,and get outcrosses for your genepools . gnipper 6,042
Each to their own but I can't stand them feather legged ones or deformed beakless ones. Some of them types can't feed their own young can they?
