walshie 2,804
We've got one of those plastic wormeries with a bowl at the bottom that collects the liquid produced by the worms and 3 removable trays above it. I've googled it and some places say put the kitchen waste in the top tray and the worms will work their way down and other sites say put it in the bottom tray and worms will make their way up. I gather you rotate these trays, but which is it? OR do you put kitchen scraps in all of them? Bloody minefield this country lark.

The one 8,577
Does it matter or are you raising them to feed the carp on a comercail scale ?
Tiercel 6,986
If you want to stock the wormery, go out one night when it's raining with a torch (not too bright) and walk your lawns. You will fill a tub in half an hour. When you see a worm stretched out over the lawn place a finger as near the tail part as you can and wait for it to relax before picking it up, otherwise they will snap.
