night warrior 178
Lovely bit of sport this afternoon, just having a brew after getting home from work, sitting in my armchair, who should walk up the driveway, RSPCA fundraiser with a blue tabard on, game on ! Jumped up met him as he knocked on door, usual intro do you own an pet etc, my answer, "yes" Refused to elaborate any further then informing him about the amount of thefts recently and not wishing to disclose any details, he was taken back with my answers, threw him off his usual doorstep conversation ! Let him carry on asked him a few simple questions, he was very vague, didn't know a great deal other than what he'd been told to say and he wasn't expexting a conversation like he received!! He wanted to back away but I kept him in dialogue and gave him a few home truths about the so called charity, had to laugh when i asked him who Gavin Grant was, he didn't know, more pain for him then we got onto the subject of money waisting, fighting the hunting ban, wasted subscriptions on court cases etc, he really wanted to back away but I kept on to him, great sport, poor thing he was out of his depth, didn't even know the breed of dog in the picture on his card, half starved with ribs exposed, it was a Weimaraner, that got us on to the tail docking ban, he knew nothing about that either. Eventually I let him retreat, knowing he wasn't getting any of my money and that not everyone in this suburban area Is wishy washy about the cover story of fighting animal cruelty like he has been told to portray, very enjoyable getting my point of view across, hope he goes back and relates the pain he was given, rabbit in the headlights comes to mind !! thats how it should be done nice one lad
