Concentrate on bonding with dog mate, work on basic recall and retrieve with ball or dummy bunny skin...

Season is over so work on the above and you'll be set for next season, I'm sure when sept/oct comes and dog sees a rabbit it'll know itself what to do - natural Instinct

Atb and good luck

As above, but as the season is done then maybe get a lure. I used to use a white rubber ball with a bit of reflective tape to represent quarrys eyes, a throw stick and a half decent tourch.

Mix the game up a bit by dropping the ball without dog knowing, carry on walking about 50 yards, lamp the ball with reflective tape on, have your dog on a slip lead and control the dogs head to point to where you left the ball and encourage your dog to fetch it. Then extend the distance as your dog progresses.

Get out with just you and your dog and give plenty of praise on retrieve.Up the game a bit again by using heavier dummies and more of them if you can. This will also help your dog take squatters.

Once your dog has mastered this take it to where some rabbits are, keep him on the lead and lamp the rabbits and watch the dogs reaction . Come the new season and your dog should be eager do its job. Judge what you think could be an easy slip, to give him a better chance and boost confidence.
