Masters Darts.

Watched them all yesterday and I thought Anderson stood out. Didn't see any today as to busy, but I'm watching both semis and the final. Wolfie won a comp on the continent today, and the guy he was playing hit a nine darter, I wish a few more of the BDO top lads would make the move. MVG almost just had a nine darter, started with a 174 and just missed d12.

I didnt even know this was on,just flicked over and they are 2 - 2 in the final.....i thought all the darts was on Sky.....doesnt the premier league normally start about this time of the year ?.... can see this game being nip and tuck all the way,Van Gerwen to win it though i reckon.

You've just gotta love MVG, over 112 average, two chances at 9 darters, and the 150 and 160+ finishes. The gurning and celebration a are something else, you have to wonder if he is some sort of autistic savant, in any other walk of life he would look like a mong !!! Great darts all week end, apart from Taylor being off form, but evidently his mother has just died and his heart and mind weren't realy in it, I hope he gets back to form.

I remember watching Van Gerwen when he was about 16 it was obvious he was going to be a top player but then seemed to go off the boil for a while.....i didnt even realise it was the same player after he put all the weight on/bald head etc.....seems like a genuine sort of kid as well i enjoy watching him play theres nothing like pure raw talent.....you reckon he could stay at the top as long as Taylor did Brigzy ? or is that something never likely to be repeated.

No, mate, there's to many top players that can beat each other on their day, now. Taylor was a one off, nobody will win as many world titles as he has. Barney was his nearest competition and did well to win five. If players like Anderson and Wade can conquer their nerves, or if Chizzi can get a run of the type of form he is capable of, they will stop MVG winning anywhere as near titles as Taylor. Remember, Taylor has won over 200 titles, and I'd say he isn't finished yet. Saying all that, I think MVG is about the best at the moment.

I suppose the quality of the players and size of the game in general today makes it difficult......i just wonder how much Van Gerwen can improve as in winning his first world title at 23/24 is he ? compared to Taylors first world title in his mid 30,s whatever he was it will be interesting to see if Van Gerwen stays hungry.......Taylor has one of the best mindsets ive ever seen in a sportsman he has a fantastic attitude to competition that im not sure many other sportsmen have in terms of longevity......exciting times ahead for darts.

I enquired into the PDC "Q" school about your pal that won the masters a while back, I forget his name at the moment, but he didn't make it through. If a player of his class can't make it, that means there are some very serious players who have just got their tour cards, so it will be even harder to win tournaments this year.

Tony West is his name, just came to me !

with all the money in all the comps now its brings so many people into it as like brigzy says q school is so strong, the pdc youth are being schooled also so the next generation will.be strong in mind and it will.not faze them for tv tournements in the future so im sure there is a possibility of a taylor style player to come through but with the strengh of players nowdays it will.be hard for one player to domimate as taylor did..
