I'm changing my Gamo rocket IGT from a gas ram to a spring. My question is, how much pre load if any is there usually on a gas ram? Don't have a spring compressor and don't want to risk the internals flying out if I don't use one.

Cheers Luke

I would think they are like most gamos .The trigger and spring are the same in a lot of them .there is stuff on you tube ect for other gamos .I would think your big problem ,if it is possible to just fit a spring into the gun ,which most probably you can .Is you will have to fit a spring guide .I think a webley hawk has no spring guide but that is not usual .

I believe the gas ram in the Gamo range of guns along with a few other makes are sealed units, unlike the gas rams in the Theoben range which are user serviceable enabling you to carry out a spring conversion quite easily using the parts already in the gun. It may be the case that you will have to source a piston from a similar Gamo spring powered gun.
