mattwhite 1,993
Well its just starting to get chilly here now and the sparrows and finches are queing up in my trees for food so off i go and fill up the feeders and hang up fat balls and fill up water feeders. Standing in the kitchen window admireing my handywork i clock 3 bloomin bandits giveing the sparrows what for on the far feeders at the bottom of the garden so off i go like a whippet to get the s410...load it.....quietly open the window and give one of them a jsb exact diablo to the heart and lungs from 45 yards, dropping him like a sack of the preverbial. I reloaded in the hopes that his pals might just come back and go nuts as they sometimes do but they had far more sense but not to worry, there is always another day. 2 Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486
Nice shooting. Must admit, when I top up our bird feeders, I drop a few peanuts on the ground deliberately, come back inside, load the rifle, and wait. Nine times out of 10, a bandit turns up within a few minutes... Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Thank you. I will try that one out this afternoon as the finches have given the feeders a right hammering! 1 Quote Link to post

mattwhite 1,993
I do my best but they are such twitchy buggers. You have to try and get a well placed shot into them before they get their toes wrapped around the branch they are landing on Quote Link to post
