skycat 6,172 Posted December 31, 2014 Report Share Posted December 31, 2014 If it's the front rim of the ears that are getting frayed going through brambles, try not to wash too often as it softens the skin. Unless they get infected, never happened to my dogs, I leave well alone. Scabs will build up and form a protective layer. Eventually the skin gets covered in scar tissue and won't bleed any more: takes a few years mind! 1 Quote Link to post

dogs-n-natives 1,181 Posted January 1, 2015 Report Share Posted January 1, 2015 Pretty much, I just find that after a few weeks of brambles and your spaniels are working them 6 days a week, you can pull a hundred thorns from each ear every night and they can get a bit gunky, a quick wipe with salted water and its all good. 1 Quote Link to post
