a lurcher x collie x bull x kelpie is what I was told iirc

I'v always had labs as gundogs in the past so this is pretty new to me so expect the bone question lol

nice pup , should do well for what you want lamping, mooching. Buts its a lurcher not a longdog , longdog = sighthound x sighthound, a lurcher= is sighthound x none sighthound breed.,well that's what ive always been led to believe , but long as it knocks few rabbits over it don't matter what it is :yes:

that's interesting

not knowing any better I'v always just used the words "longdog" or "running dog" as generic terms for any skinny long legged speed machine that runs on rabbit or, well...just rabbit these days

A lurcher will do it mate, same as a spaniel will sit on a peg all day just like a lab

I have seen a lurcher picking up on a shoot day before now...the fella gets plenty of stick as you can imagine but no-one denies it does the job

Just for walking a beating line almost any well behaved dog will naturally do a half decent job without you even trying

true ive seen lurchers on shoots picking up,the one's I seen were colliexs with good lump of collie in the mix, and done great job, my colliex could do the same as well , he got great nose to find birds +rabbits. my young dog got great nose as well , but if a fox or deer got up he be after it even 3 fields away unless he caught it there+ then lol , he more head strong than any colliex that ive had if game about. yeh a lot of people will call anything that's greyhound appearance a longdog , but as sad as long as it catch+kills stuff it don't really matter if its a lurcher or longdog :yes:
