ghillies 209
depends on your eyes, if theyre good get a screen version on top the scope (for digital) a lot of the near eye screened stuff like the yukon ranger totaly blacks the veiw eye out and leaves you stumbling about like nobbin the mule.. gen1 intencifier tubed stuff feels better to look through because you are looking throuh..ish (theres a green fosferous screen basically but feel better).. if you have the dosh go a good gen2 add on..gen 3 even better. difital neds more ir than intesncifier stuff..start with at least an olsan black diode up wards for distance stuff. gen1 you will need a ir illimator no matter what the adverts say..probably not as strong as digital needs..white out sucks big time btw. gen 2.. yeh a ir but not as strong..some of the btter ones white ot really easily gen 3? big pockets but jeeeess you can see through them thing lol. diy digital is an easy cheaper option coming in about 150-160 quid for decent distance rig (100 yard plus).. try the http://www.nightvisionforumuk.com/ for more info.. its really easy, plug yellow plug in yellow socket type stuff. ermm.. with intencifier stuff, the older stuff slightly changes its zero depending what direction your pointing, east west etc..summut to with the earths magnetic feild doing stuff to the tube.. newer studd has suposed to have sorted it. tillylamp 1,932
hi, thanks for all your views about it, much appreciated, I have opted for the do it yourself version to see how I get on, I have it all up and running now and if I get on with it I will upgrade it to a better one later on, thanks, tl Quote Link to post

bunny tickler 876
i paid £100 off nvuk for my set up as i allready have the IR ,i cant fault it at all ,it has its place as do all others ,but if your ratting or waiting for bunnies in a fixed position once set up it outshines most units double its cost ok its a screen but its easy enough to get a filter screen when walking about its a pain having to keep stopping & reparralaxing , but for £100 its superb , best thing is to look at as many different units you can before you make your choice https://www.(!64.56:886/photo.php?fbid=638621586247772&set=pcb.738545639560894&type=1&theater Quote Link to post

tillylamp 1,932
hi treecreeper, I opted for a camcorder attached to my scope with a t20 ir illuminator light on top of the scope, that's it really, quite simple, but I did enjoy making it all come together, it works ok and only cost £100, here it is, (don't laugh ha ha) 1 Quote Link to post
