Re Proofing Chaps

Recommended Posts

I was at a shoot on Monday and it became evident the chaps were not quite as waterproof as they could be.

A trip through the washing machine (gentle program, NO soap and slow spin - not recommended and you take your chances if you follow my lead) cleaned the dirt off and yesterday came the waxing job.

No sooner did I start than I remembered why I hate this job, a few bramble nicks and one barded wire catch, but 5 years on from new and some pretty heavy work every season they look virtually as new again.

The time and effort, a 40ml tin of Barbour Thornproof, and a seeming eternity with the hair dryer, makes me wonder why I bother though, there are times simply buying a new pair seems very inviting!

So.....do you do yours, any tips, or is it just one of those jobs?
