foxtails 272 Posted October 19, 2014 Report Share Posted October 19, 2014 Might be worth a bid Dam right it was worth a bid, It was me selling it! if i were you id go for the garrett euro ace its better, its not got the american version on the screen either -,5 cent 1o cent ect.... plus it detects deeper,and if you wanted to get even deeper, bigger coils are the answere, garrett holds theyr price aswel, I'm not saying the euro ace isnt better but on a depth test next to the 250 I saw hardly any difference. there was atleast 3-4 inces difference, have a look at field tests plus bigger coils theres another few inches again, i know theres bigger coils for the 25o aswel, but why is the price differnce an extra £1oo if theres not much differnce ? the 25o ace has the american version ect...plus 3 -4 inches is a massive difference The one we tested was about an inch more. It was nicer to use and more stable on the beach but for the money the ace 250 cannot be touched in my opinion. A SEF coil only put 3/4 of an inch on mine as well. i dont know about the one you tested, but i can asure you its more than one inch ! and like i said the american version.......were in britain ! how annoying must that be, iv had the bounty hunter quick draw 11 for my first detector, that had the american version, then i had the cs5mx that wasnt a bad machine, iv tried the vikings, looked hard at the 25o ace but after deciding the benifits of both i decided on the garrett euro ace ! theres a field test on both at the same time on you tube, it goes through every benifit of both machines, have a look .... the euro ace wins hands down id much prefer the etrac or the ctx 3o3o but thats another day when i can afford it lol ! I was going to upgrade to the better garret so i'm not saying it isnt better. The US thing didnt bother me either as iv never really used the visual screen on any detector, you just get a feel for the signal and sound. My brother has an expensive minelab (cant remember the model) and a friend had an etrac...now i'm not saying they arnt much better but over 2 years I never averaged less finds. I guess its like a baikal against a purdy or a £10 fishing rod against a bruce n walker! They are a thousand times better....but for the money the garret ace will never be touched on proformance and value Quote Link to post Share on other sites
