Feeding Time

Hi all. Just a quick question. Do you feed your dog's befor going out hunting or after? I try and go out early and my borders not really a morning dog haha. Cheers

I dont see why before u wouldn't run on a full belly or squeeze in a hole when ur stuffed plus theyl jus shit it all out an be hungry when theyre home and settled jmo cheers

a bit of breakfast is ok if its liquidy like milk and egg or pasta and not too much. Its a good way to get some liquids into them to prevent dehydration. Main meal always after work.

Fed once of a night before I go asleep . Keeps them quiet till morning & they pass it out while out for a walk.

nothing worse than a promising dog go to ground,find his quarry,work it for ten minutes then come up for a shit, I've seen it happen & the lads were lucky for the dog to drop back in & get back on term's with it's quarry before it dig's away. Feed according to work schedule but not before work & if an early start then drop feeding back from night to afternoon before. Not saying its right but it works for me & + I like to let mine out for a quick run before work as sometimes they wont empty out in kennels but will in the yard so no problem when you get to an earth.
