Maximus Ferret 2,065
From my very limited experience of comparing beardie to border blood within a lurcher...I'd say the main difference was that they're more likely to ignore a command if they think it's wrong. This is why I think some people say they're less obedient: it's not so much that they won't do as they're told but rather that, in my experience, borders and their crosses are more likely to do exactly what they've been asked. It just depends on whether you rate biddability over a dog with a mind of its own. Each has benefits and drawbacks. not had any experience of beardie crosses but i have heard similar. i'd rather a biddable dog . cant see many benefits of a lurcher deciding to cock a deaf un. There definately CAN be benefits. I like a dog to be fairly biddable myself BUT when it comes to hunting up a good dog knows a lot more about where to be and what to do than we do. That's surely why we use dogs instead of hunting up ourselves!! Edited October 2, 2014 by Maximus Ferret 2 Quote Link to post
