I also missed the crop this year and only managed to gather enough for making Damson Gin! Ye thats the one i had a look when i went for a mooch today ov never seen them before so i just assumed they were sloes They are great for making Jams from but you have to be very carful that you check them for maggot infestation which nearly % of the local crop near me suffered from this year! No mate, but I don't eat the rose hips so a bit ignorant to them, LOL. Had some lovely Damsons about 3 weeks ago mind and Hazelnuts are dropping. Just shite for Blackberries, but still a bit early.
