walshie 2,804 Posted August 7, 2014 Report Share Posted August 7, 2014 Rather than go lamping later, I thought I'd grab the gun and dog and see if I could rid the farm of some of the jackdaws and pigeons that are plaguing it right now. Got down there at 6 and by heck it's too hot to do anything physical. I was drenched from head to foot in sweat (bit cooler now I've jumped in the shower) and my dog decided she'd lay in the shade behind the van and do nothing till home time. 3 hours. Grand total: Nowt. Although I did take a shot at one that was probably at the limit of a Howitzer's range. Lamping in the cool is far better. The jackdaws can wait till it's cooler.
