Gos 4
Hello people since the hunting act has been in place obviously the waterloo cup does not take place in England any longer. Am i correct in thinking that it now takes places in Irleand? For some reason Killkenny rings a bell? Regards Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Only organised coursing i know of that takes place here is in febuary, at clonmel, Co, Tip, which is in my opinion, no where, as good as what the waterloo cup was. Their is other smaller fixtures around the counntry during the year, but this is the final big event of the year. Quote Link to post

Guest Macnas
As far as I know, and I'm open to correction by the coursing lads, the Clonmel event is and always has been it's own, and by that I mean it wasn't created as a substitute for the Waterloo cup. The Clonmel coursing is "park", as opposed to the open coursing at the Waterloo cup. I know many people come over from the UK to watch and to enter dogs, more so now than before naturally. chartpolski 28,921
The Waterloo Cup doesn't exist anymore; Shashi was the last winner; There was talk of moving it to Ireland or Portugal, but nothing came of it. I understand that a few of the top dogs, including Hardy Admiral, ran a small stake in Ireland, but it was never supposed to be, or replace, the Waterloo Cup. Cheers. Quote Link to post
