jack-percival 25
I'm after two matching singing cages for a bullfinch cock and a goldfinch cock to hand in the garden, there must be someone on here who could knock me two up or already has two, I'm after something similar to the picture below ( nothing too fancy as they won't be in them for to long) just while the weathers nice.... I'm willing to pay for postage if your a little far away, must have some where to attach a drinker and a feeder and a cleaning tray would be a bonus, also I prefer the twin perches instead of a single as it prevents boredom while in it thankyou jack Private message me...... fireman 11,463
Can't really ask this question without sounding like i'm being funny but i'm not but you know how to keep a Bullfinch in a cage? as it isn't the same as with most native finches mate, they need their diet being regulated as getting over weight is easy for them to do and all sorts of problems occure because of it.

jack-percival 25
Thanks for your concern mate but it's my dad who keeps finches and I just fancied a couple for in the garden while the weathers nice, I would get food off him, he collects dandelions and juniper berries etc etc and mixes it and makes his own seed, I understand that you may have had some concern so you have voiced it, but what's with all the dickhead comments like quote "nice one fireman" I've asked a question and don't mind being offered advice or help but not some dickhead keyboard warrior and his stupid input, you used to be able to ask a question and get a straight answer on this site or ask for help and it seemed someone would back you up or lend a hand now you just get daft replies, this is not aimed at you fireman as I have never followed my dad Into finches and really liked his native goldfinches and bull finches, if you say they are hard to keep in a small cage for a short period of time, what would you recommend instead thank-you in advance jack.... I hate people who think they know to all and sneer at someone having a go who's showing interest, and put them down as they haven't got a clue or there doing it wrong but don't offer advice or a lending hand, it's too easy to sit behind your keyboard and post dickhead comments instead of encouragement and advice thanks mule
fireman 11,463
I'd say Mule was just thinking of the birds with his reply as a lot of folk wouldn't give it a thought and he was just saying "nice one" for someone saying about it and not to dig at you,he's a bird keeper and Bullfinch owner himself and isn't the sort of man to bother about digging someone out mate . But if you want a bird for a bit of song and colour in your garden then really a mule is the bird for you and you can get a few sorts all with different song if you look hard enough and all sorts of colours as well, feed for them is simple enough and most will go back into a shared bigger cage rather than with pure natives you have to be carefull and your deffo risking trouble sharing a cock bully with any other cock.I say about the mixing bit as you say the birds would be caged for short periods so i take they'd share a flight at other times?,but another thing is bully's don't really sing and at the moment the only cock finches i have singing are a goldie mule and a chaffie cock still trilling as the moult is happening and the pures will have stopped their real singing till next year, the mules will sing a lot again once the moults finished and all through the winter .Going on a bit here now but hope you get the drift and the advice i give is equaly for you and the birds mate as the wrong animal in the wrong home ain't good for man nor beast
