Simoman 110
Why wast all that on ferrets? Pop out the breasts, season, wrap in bacon & roast gently. Yuk  Not the scabby ferals mate. We have been doing too good a job at our farm, last 18 months we have averaged a dozen a night, now we get 2/3 and thats it, the farmer is happy but its not much fun for us. Quote Link to post
DEL 5
Have to agree dont fancy eating them. The farm was cleared of them afew months ago but now theres all the grain in the sheds there back Quote Link to post
stubby 175
this gets to me, we shoot or ferret rabbits, I'll eat them, therefore the dogs and ferts get them too, this goes for pheasant, grouse, duck etc, yet people still shoot ferals and say, i wont eat it, but Ill give it to the ferts, I just got in from shooting 40 plus ferals that were shitting all over a station roof, the only place they are going is in the incinerater at work, if it aint good enough for me, it certainly aint good enough for my dogs/ferrets Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
Stubbs, this we've had this discussion before...it all comes down to the birds lifestyle. If they're living on a farm, feeding on grain, and the same stuff as woodies, as DEL stated they are, then why not let the ferrets have them? I would never feed city pigeons to my ferrets, because they eat crap! I have to admit though, I wouldn't eat farm ferals, but that's a psychological thing I'm sure! Quote Link to post
