heritage 202 Posted May 27, 2014 Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 I've never owned a truck or pick-up so Ive never done it to anything I drive but I have done a similar thing hundreds of times in my former job......most automatically opt for a sunroof but there unsuitable as there too small and arkward to fit...... The best thing for you would be an emergency exit / skylight from a commercial viechle such as a coach.....there much larger and generally square so offer a lot more room, there fully detachable and lockable via 2 handles that fit internally and have the benefit of being easily painted if required...... They come with a frame that acts as a potential template and also the seal to ensure its 100 % watertight......there bonded / bolted or riveted into place.....fitted properly no one would even know its there and it could add some form of value to the top itself........ The downside ?? They cost a lot of money if purchased new but they can be sourced from coach breakers / scrapyards around the country.... Jake w 232 Posted June 7, 2014 Report Share Posted June 7, 2014 Have you ever saw them red boxes what fire extinguishers are in with the doors on know a lad who used one of them for hatch in roof and it was bang on mate siliconed around edges so it all water proof drill hole through edge of door attach bungee strap so it can be held down so it doesn't flap about best hatch iv saw upto yet and will do same when I get a truck matey Quote Link to post Share on other sites
