Muscle Embrocation

Recommended Posts

Does anyone use muscle embrocation on their dogs regularly? I know a lot of greyhound trainers swear by it.

If you use it how frequently, after every time they have worked. Or only if you know they have had a strain or a pull?

What about brands any recommened brands?

Used the bone one radiol.used it on toes mainly, to stop dislocated toes from caloussing had mixed results with it suppose it depends how bad the injury. Would only use it if you need to, smells strong and some dogs dont like it. Never used muscle one so not sure if its the same

I personally think its a good thing to know how to massage Your Dogs. that way You know when something isn't right. An old chap of 90 + years taught me, he was blind.... he new every inch of all the dogs in his care and even at that age he used a porta mag. ( You wouldn't think his generation would ) he died some years back.... a sad loss , Great Trainer

I use Kuracho on my lurchers and gundogs before and after they work, spray in on them or my hands if I have a dog that doesn't like stuff being sprayed on them and then use it as a muscle rub, the way my mum and dad used to rub the greyhounds before and after they ran.

I use it before to warm the dogs muscles up and after before I travel home, dogs like it, does muscles no harm and good way of checking for injuries. I half think that it helps keep ticks off the gundogs on the heather as well, they never seem to have as many on them if I Kuracho them.

I personally like the smell of it, its quite strong but not unpleasant. Just need to find someone to rub me down with it after a day on grouse lol :whistling:

It can be used before, after or both.

It's good for a dog standing about in slips on a freezing cold day and then having to stretch his muscles to the max or after a hard days work to help prevent stiffness. ..

As a kid playing football we would use White horse oil for the same thing
