Gaz_1989 9,539
I've come on leaps and bounds these last few weeks. Gone from struggling to hit a beer can at 10 yards to head shots at 15-20 yards. Filled the freezer these last few weeks with bits I've been knocking over on my travels. This was yesterday and today...

Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers lads. The catty is a Gamekeeper John chunky milbro (I think). It was a blank which I meant to finish myself but ended up just giving it a coat of stain. I will sand it and varnish it at some point. 17/45 looped tubes. Tried 50/80 tubes and also theraband gold (single and double) and I am massively better with these tubes. Not sure why, they just suit me really well. Or I suit them. Ammo, I'm using 10mm steel. Started out with these but then switched to 10mm and 12mm lead as at the time I was using double TBG and the 10mm steel felt too light. I've since gone back to the 10mm steel with these tubes as the lead felt too heavy. 10mm steel and 17/45 feel perfect. The ammo flies and I've killed ducks, rabbits, squirrels, pheasant etc all on impact.
Gaz_1989 9,539
Just come round my mates. Pulled up at the gate and there is a woody sat on the apex roof of one of the outbuildings. The first pic is where I took my shot from, this side of the gate. The other pic is the end result. I paced it out at 15 yards...
THE DEMON 93
good shooting mate well done what point of the catty do you aim from ?
Gaz_1989 9,539
I get asked that a lot. And I don't really know. With the target somewhere between the forks. Lol
roosika 110
I aim on my left fork on the right corner of It . I am not sure weather to try 3 a side or quad looped 1745 for 12mm lead
Gaz_1989 9,539
Why are you set on lead mate? As a beginner I find the stronger bands harder to keep a steady aim with. Try the looped 17/45 with 10mm steel mate. You might be surprised.
Ocset 91
I aim on my left fork on the right corner of It . I am not sure weather to try 3 a side or quad looped 1745 for 12mm lead That's a lot of pulling for not a lot more velocity. I can't shoot 4 strands per side. If I needed loads of power I'd go to TBG before doubling up the 1745's. As it is, I can kill pigeons, pheasants and rabbits with looped 1745's and hexnuts.
