Sweeney 316
The proven fox dogs that you've owned, what were they like as pups (up to 12 months ) ? Temperment/attitude wise ? Were they aggressive, nervous, quiet ? All different I know just wondering whats peoples exoeriences were and if there's any tell tale signs that would make you think there going/not going to make the grade ? Quote Link to post
Ausnick 190
There's no way of telling, as a rule I don't keep aggressive dogs. But the only way you can truly tell if a dog will make a fox dog is to put it on them. 1 Quote Link to post
Terra Firma 136
The best fox dogs I've owned have been non aggressive, but that's probably more down to good socialisation than anything. Good prey drive, eagerness to hunt are good signs, but I've seen switched on dogs that'll have them and also the most laid back almost docile dogs that'll take them. I've also seen dogs that start well jack after a hard night, all you could do is get the best breeding available to you, and enter the dog carefully when the time is right for that individual dog as they all mature differently. Entering to young or immature was often a reason for failure, the best bred dogs can be ruined by a bad owner. 1 Quote Link to post
