desertbred 5,490 Posted April 28, 2014 Report Share Posted April 28, 2014 Its the same as anything in life control and moderation can channel anything in the right direction,if something becomes so obsessive where for example a dog will cause itself harm then the sport aspect goes out of the widow and it becomes cruelty itself. Another example body building is a healthy activity if it becomes obsessive and drugs and steroids become involved then it becomes a completely different ball game. Quote Link to post

Another example body building is a healthy activity if it becomes obsessive and drugs and steroids become involved then it becomes a completely different ball game. you hit the nail on the head there but obsessive prey drive can make or break a dog dependant on the owner and circumstances, an unfit highly driven dog is an accident waiting to happen, problems also occur when recovering from injuries etc., a balance needs to be struck in any breeding programme Quote Link to post
