Strange Night On The Rabbits - (With Audience)

Recommended Posts

I've just got in after a very strange night...went to one of my permissions and was picking a few rabbits off from the car, I got out to collect them with the spotlight and when I got back to car I Noticed a massive crowd of people at the fence behind me, honestly about 20+, it's a horse riding school, when I first secured the permission I went and introduced myself and left contact details but looks like it wasn't shared with all the team.

They were all looking at me like I'd just placed my wife in a shallow grave :icon_eek:

I thought I'd better go and introduce myself and after discussing with lady in charge and showing her my license and permission to shoot letter she was happy and explained they've had some stables set of fire recently so they are keeping a close eye on everything, I obviously offered my services and mentioned the added advantage of free security patrols whilst I'm taking care of the rabbits on their land

I usually only do weekends when their closed, but I've got a few days off this week. Overall it was a very awkward moment :whistling:

could of been worse mate could of been firearm response they would of had your pants down

Haha it is that easy though for someone to call in if suspicious, they wasn't aware I had rifle with it being .22 Rimmy with subs.

My FEO advised calling 101 and opening a case so each time you go you call them and it's left on system so if anyone reports anything in area they will call you first, not sure how many use this though.

Dealt with well :good:

These misunderstanding happen, that's why I feel it always pays to keep a casual and friendly presence around your permissions, even if you solely lamp them. Just keep your face (and vehicle) well known to all.

Nice it ended that way mate every time ive had a audience the armed response has been called out , even passing bus drivers have called the police when they have seen the light

Its no a problem with shooting on a site wheres theres people walking about all hours of the day and night and buses running about and trying to keep a low profile and only tell the people i need to that i shoot there , and even having to call the police and get a job number .The armed response turn up if called but there usual a pair of nice lads ask to see the guns usually say youve got a good few i can see why you control the rabbits this way and go . Last year i got them called out four times and my mate was reported and they turned out 6 times , and then theres normal patrol cars that are passing threw and ask what your doing , and when you quote a job number they say control doesn't inform them so why bother telling them ?.:laugh::laugh:
