The bitching was a bit of freindly banter between myself and socks, take the advice i have given about the greyhound dog mate, it wont be a bad start for your mate

Hello all ,i'm new to this site and only just seen this thread, its been a good read and a good laugh :D

The subject of using an ex racer was something i toyed with myself,

i've always had my dogs from pups, but did'nt feel it was fair to take on another as both myself and the wife work ,and to leave a pup for seven hours is to my mind to long.

However i did need a new dog ,as one of mine was retired, and the other is at an age were this will be her last proper season.

After much thought i decided to go for a rescue lurcher rather than the greyhound, now its not all been plane sailing, and i am well aware that each dog is different ,and not all rescues will make the grade, but if you are prepared to put in the time (which you would have to do with a pup)you may like me be lucky and end up with a usefull worker and a new best mate.

Now i'm not saying this is what your mate should do runningdog69,but its an opption.

here is a pic of my rescue, with one of her catches,All the best Mick.
