Dimorphic Canary

Recommended Posts

Hi lads have just bought this canary been told it's a cock bird just wondered if there's any other way to find out if it is a cock bird or is it just a case of waiting to hear it sing

Cheers lads

if its dimorphic the cock will have a mask around his eyes and the hen wont.

There's 2 types though for the showing isn't there, one has well marked cocks and nearly clear hens and the other has nicely marked hens and over marked cocks.

yes 2 types for breeding gnipper but its normally the cocks that's shown you use a over marked hen ie a big mask hen to breed a cock line or

a small masked ck to shot a hen line type 1 + type 2 if that what some people want to do I just put best to best and hope for the best
