just been thinking,if lamb farming so common in uk,why is venison farming not more common.surely venison can make double the price of lambs.got some land and i have been thinking what i could do with it.any help most welcome fellas.

the fact theres such a large supply of wild deer i would say plays apart in there being not a great deal of deer farms about.

Stocking levels will be less , they need a proper fence !! nothing worse than seeing your money jump the fence & trott off to be shot by your neighbours , they are a lot more expensive to buy in than lamb etc etc ..The fact that their are only a few deer farms tells me their aint much money to be made in it ..!!

A few years back I used to do a bit of dry stone walling for a mate because he used to get called to the local deer farm on a regular basis due to animal activists and the rest of the tree huggers were ramming the walls down and cutting fences so the deer could escape. So beware of the idiits out there atb
