secretagentmole 1,701
Decided to try the local gun shop to get a couple of scopes (one for her HW95 and one for my BSA Goldstar). Went for a couple of BSA Essencial scopes, oh dear. Well Kranks sent them out, sent out duplex, I ordered Mil Dot. Sent back. Then the owner says he can get some Hawke Mil Dot in, will do them at cost to make up for the lousy service from Kranks. OK, agree to that. Got a pair of HK 3070, which are the 3-12x50 AO IR scopes. Cheapest I have found them for online is £79.99 plus p&p! They came with mounts too, which was ok on the 95 (had a recoil pin too so they wont walk backwards on that), did not fit the Maxigrip rail on the BSA though so staying the the BKL Sportsmatch on those! He is also servicing the Mark 3 as he is a Daystate accredited service agent and is charging £40 plus parts to do it, which is not a bad price at all. I know the batteries are shot so that is another £25.Not a bad price all told! 1 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Thing is he does not really advertise, not in the yellow pages, only time I knew he was there was when he cut his hedge and I saw the small A4 sized sign. Quote Link to post
neil82 1,088
is that price for replacing the soldered batteries????, mine need doing Quote Link to post
shep41 31
I've just fitted one of these scopes and the AO is a brilliant feature. I paid the same price as you but no mounts with it, but well worth the money. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
is that price for replacing the soldered batteries????, mine need doing £40 plus the cost of the battery, but that is for a full service as well! You can buy the batteries from Daystate, but seeing as it has been a couple of years since mine had a service, seemed about due for one! Edited March 21, 2014 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Picked it up Monday, the batteries were the plug in type, so were easily replaced. He stripped the mechanism down and got a rogue pellet from the middle of it. Pressurised it, shoots well, is as accurate as ever and is now smoother cocking to boot. Had a sheet with a running total on that we had agreed to, turns out I owed him £6 for VAT and carriage on the battery. Paid him a tenner and told him to keep the change. Well he did replace some chewed bolt heads for nowt so fair dos all round! Had it out Monday evening in the woods, got myself into the clearing and managed to bag 3 pigeons so had pigeon pie last night! The Mark 3 is still the accurate, whisper quiet, killing machine, now with new batteries! Edited March 26, 2014 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
