At the moment she is heading a project to help teach the kids things like English, maths, Music etc all for free   Me being me soon as I found out they hunt I was telling the Mrs to document it :la

She's been there for months mate, mushys in denial she's left him, just Humphrey him like the rest of us   Edit to say Humphrey should be humor

She sure is mush mate. See that trap, reminds me of how we used to catch sparrows as a kid with a dustbin lid, it of stick and fishing gut.

 don't want it to look like I haven't been reading your posts but  is that how they hunt, mob handed, full village? I'm guessing with the noise it's mostly trapping and snaring they do?

Think more like the lads that posted the thread about hunting in Hungary.

They set up a couple of guys in strategic spots up ahead (could be 3-4 kilometers) then set the dogs off with one guy running through the jungle keeping up with them (a bloody feat of endurance if I ever saw one) And behind this guy and the dogs is a line of people who seem to stay behind just enough making noise and whatever. Then either the dogs will catch something and bail it up or lock on until "Dogman" arrives or the guys in position take running shots at the fleeing quarry..

Nothing is wasted from the carcases

Edited to add only the men are allowed on the hunt from the village all the women you can see/hear are part of the project to teach the kids

Good post mushroom, interesting how they have evolved hunting techniques to suit thick forest. I know that in some areas they use long nets along with a few people waiting to ambush game, also rather than just beat they set fires to drive game into them. Its supposed to work better in old clearings from slash and burn farming methods with thicker re-growth. As the Mrs to see if use nets there  .

Tbh I just want the bint to video the whole thing correctly

After the Mrs told the village elders about my interest in hunting they have extended an open invite for me to go and stay with them and hunt with them so guess I'll 1) need to get a go pro & 2) a flight   You want a job doing do it yourself

She hasn't seen any net use but she will ask when she's back up there this weekend, so you'll have to wait a couple of days for a proper answer

Also the mrs has asked to to request again that if any of you can share any videos. She leaves for the village tomorrow round about this time, for the last time for a few months.

I guarantee nothing will find it's way onto the net, it is purely for a teaching exercise. Anything can be sent to me anonymously (links included). The idea is she is going to use an ipad to show the men and children how Brits do it and the difference in the dogs that are cared for properly and respected by their masters. So retrieves to hand whether gundogs or Lurchers, courses, catches etc the idea is the composure of the dogs and what can be achieved.

Cheers Shroom
