oneredtrim 148
Oneredtrim who was your all time fav City player ? I've played football with a lot a lads that have been in Citys dressing room over the years, some of the best schoolboys in the northwest, all were shocked by The King, professionals seem to be of the same opinion, watching him run late in the 2nd half you knew it was unique in his era, Allison who seen plenty called him a specimen. I once got chatting to Ivan Mauger of speedway fame who prided himself on his fitness, he trained with city whilst being treated by Freddie griffis (strange but very true) and I still recall his boat (shocked like the junior blues were) when I mentioned Bell, he said he could keep up with all the City squad except the nijinski fella and sat and told me how he formulated plans to get the better of him whilst running the woodford lanes with the club...said he changed gear on him after running him thru a torturous 6 mile and he simply took off. Shoot-head-tackle-passing-vision-drive-stamina..'kin hell. Edited February 17, 2014 by oneredtrim
gnasher16 31,602
Gnash 32k of there Hardcore support have just shelled out 100 for a Wembley Ticket Maybe 200 for digs for the weekend Then it's train or bus tickets or fuel in cars Then beer money It's ok for you's lot if u make Wembley It's a home match really Different for us And as I say Sunderlands Fans are from one of the most Economicaly depressed areas in Uk And also it ain't about emptey seats But Seats sold and there were 17k sold How many did hammers sell at home in City replay? Safc had 8 home games since Xmas Not to mention away games And Cup second legs If folk aint got the money They ain't got the money We fighting on two Cup fronts Remember. Lol Did you hear Poyet on the radio this morning saying how dissapointing the crowds are in a season they are doing so well ?......Not sure id agree about the " doing so well " bit being in a relegation battle but i can see what he was getting at 2 excellent cup runs and can only pull in a 17k home crowd....thats your own manager saying it Max. If 32k people can afford season tickets they can afford to go to a home 5th round cup tie....its not rocket science this has to be the most exciting season in years for a Sunderland fan and there ground is often half empty ! gnasher16 31,602
13 or 15k i forget now.................for a game that was well publicised beforehand as being a demonstration against Allardyce giving the Fa cup tie away......for the week leading up to that game you could of gone in any pub, workplace, looked in the local paper..............even on any West Ham internet forum and known it was coming... we have a shit side at the moment but our following has always been respected around the country........... You keep bringing money into it and its cringeworthy......football fans just dont do that ive known people beg borrow and steal to follow their club ok thats not the correct way to be as an adult but its something we have all done at some stage......if you want to get to a game you will..........as you say one way or another people are going to get to the Fa cup final down the other end of the country Just out of curiosity Max is this your first season following Sunderland ( going to games i mean ) ? Brigzy 1,298
The difference is Gnash isn't bragging about West Hams support. You keep on about Sunderlands support but they couldn't get 17000 for a 5th round cup tie on a saturday , so they are not a well supported club, but all the wannabee's will be out for the cup final. So many people brag about support for cup finals or big derby games....................they are the Hollywood games that everyone comes out to for a sing song and a jolly up.............what about the long boring 500 mile round trips on a rainy Tuesday night to watch a crappy nil nil draw, then doing the same the next week.......THAT is a clubs loyal following. gnasher16 31,602
My first season going to Roker Park regular would of been around 82-83 ish But Sunderland were always my team as my father and most family 'friends 'neighbours ' community ect followed them. As daft as it sounds I can still remember my Dad watching the 73 cup Final on a old tv in our house while he was knocking out a chimney Brest . Me and my cousin were playing on a wood slide in the room and I remember we fooked it ' it snapped in the middle lol Ps' Gnash stop moving the goalposts re your Hammers shite semi final second leg 14k crowd lol I only asked as like me you,ve been coming on here years and years yet before this season i dont remember you talking about footie much......yet this year you are like a hysterical teenager Im not moving goalposts im giving you facts !......The FACTS are that was the only time in years our ground has been less than half full............yours is half full every other week lately......and this is a great season for you
Brigzy 1,298
Max,you sound like a politician ! lOL ! It doesn't matter if your ground holds 20,000 or 100,000...... If you can only get les than 17,000 then it' s a very poor turn out !
gnasher16 31,602
Like iv told u Gnash Count the arses on seats Not the empty ones What about when The Hammers relocate ? Think new stadium is 54k What if you's get 34k Should we all bang on about the 20k emptey seats ? Whats that like a glass half empty or half full scenario ......I guess some folk see whatever they want to see You can bang on about whatever you want im not claiming West Ham have the greatest support in the land we are surrounded by much bigger clubs and have a loyal 35k fanbase...............it is what it is................i think we could raise 54k for the big games and maybe up it to 40-42k on a regular basis, but those extra wont be proper fans..........the difference between you and me mate is i know my club i dont think you know yours. Havent decided about your final yet depends what else is knocking about that weekend....sounds muggy as f**k but getting a ticket wont be difficult its a who you know type of thing.
