Chid 6,785
no vehicle can be driven on the road at 16 with a provisional licence .. you will need to be 17 to drive one on a provisional
paulus 26
*If you’re 16 you can only drive tractors less than 2.45 metres wide and tow trailers less than 2.45 metres wide with 2 wheels, or 4 wheels close-coupled (close together).
Chid 6,785
*If you’re 16 you can only drive tractors less than 2.45 metres wide and tow trailers less than 2.45 metres wide with 2 wheels, or 4 wheels close-coupled (close together). but not on a provisional , you have to sit a tractor test ... but soon as you hit 17 aslong as the tractor doesnt have a passenger seat you can drive it about unaccompanied on a provisional . if the utv gets taxed and insured as a agricultural vehicle you can drive it at 17 on a provisional but seen as they have more than one seat you need to have someone sat with you
potpoacher 27
thanks for that. sos as soon as I turn 17 I can take a tractor test and if I pass I can drive around unaccompanied on the utv with normal road tax and insurance, but with farm tax and insurance I have to have someone with me? what if I get a proper driving licence at 17? I presume I can just get on and drive a utv as long as it is taxed and insured appropriately?
Chid 6,785
You can sit your tractor test at 16 so can drive a tractor unaccompanied then if you pass You can drive a tractor at 17 on a provisional without no one sat at the side of you if the tractor was only made with one seat (removing seats doesn't count) Soon as you pass a car test you automatically get your tractor licence A utv can be classed as a tractor if it is taxed as one but then you have restrictions on how far you can drive on the road
