Sorry for the hasty introduction and bad spelling . A little bit more about myself : Although i am on the wrong side of 50 i'm still young at hart . When not at work you would usually find me on a farm hunting for predators ( jackal and caracal) or training young hounds .I am relatively new in the call and shoot (3 years) aspect of predator control but found it to be a very successful method at times when the weather or terrain doesnt permit other ways of control. Until a few years back i was in the fortunate position to travel and hunt all over the country and places beyond our borders like Namibie , Botswana ,Zimbabwe and Mozambique with my pack of predator hounds. After a career change a few years back i found myself more restricted in distance and time to practice my two favourite hobbies namely predator hunting and fishing. I still try to hunt or fish at least four nights a week and weekends if the weather permits. I am a member of a local predator hunting forum called JARACAL and has learned a lot from the other members. I also try to contribute my penny's worth and hope to do the same on this forum.

Thank You for the welcome. I do use both rifle and a pack of hounds as well as gin traps in an effort to try and turn the battle in my favour.Allthough the forum I mentioned before try its best to organize and educate predator hunters to be more efficient it seems if we are slowly losing the war if measured against the reports of increasing losses experieced by small stock and game farmers every year.
