Dan Davies 7
Personally I don't no anyone who works one! However does anybody either work one or no anyone who does?? There are a lot of ex racers which seem to be forgotten? Could they be turnt into good lamping dogs? Or do you get problems with them? ( i.e wind feet drive) Quote Link to post
lurcherman887 178
Here they have problems with there feet mate few fellas off here owned a couple and done alright with them Quote Link to post
bird 10,014
never worked them like a lurcher, but have looked after them at a racing kennels , and they plenty of drive in them regards chasing live stuff , prob bit to much lol. as they don't stop once in full flow, but that dogs bred just for the track. I suppose if you got 1 from a pup and brought it on like a lurcher might get bit more steady, but feet stamina never going to as good a lurcher, that's why we x them in the 1st place . 1 Quote Link to post
Dan Davies 7
The reason I ask is because you see so many in rescue that if they were useful they could be taken on for good working dogs, I have been told they've got more speed than sense aswell! Not ye brightest of dogs. Cheers for your replies Quote Link to post
staffs riffraff 1,068
I have one but think the only reason he works as he does is he injured himself when a pup {hock} and lost a bit of speed but also he was bought up with and as a lurcher and can have some fun with him balls like you wouldn't believe not scared of anything and just a pleasure to be around but if you want long hard nights night after night then they would be useless but for a couple of runs a night then crack on Quote Link to post
