Permissions hold a value when everyone is after one, so, in affect you do have to earn them and best way is to get to know people and let them to get to know you throughout the forum. Things to consider would be to upload a profile picture, write about yourself on your profile page: a quick bio or just what you're on here for and look over the forum as to interests you have or even experiences you'd like to share.
