sanglier 2
Wilf.....thanks for your input. I have been looking for a dog for a month or so. More actively now. You may be right about the luxury of choice, and i take your point entirely. Now is a good time for me but i did not want to buy the first pup i saw. I thought by talking to you guys i would find what is available and that could make my mind up for me. You also ask if I have Hunted Boar. No, I have watched Le Chasse take them but not taken part. Somethig for the future perhaps. Thanks RatSnatcher..... nice dog. She is deffo more like the build i like. Did you get her purely because of what was available or did you look for that particular strain? Quote Link to post

RatSnatcher 0
[Thanks RatSnatcher..... nice dog. She is deffo more like the build i like. Did you get her purely because of what was available or did you look for that particular strain? I was actually looking for a dog like my mates, the one below, Border X lakeland and hoping to get one from the same parents, of a hunt terrier man........ But the terrier men had moved on to another hunt.......And the new terrier men had Pats.....I never did find out what lines she's from....... Quote Link to post

ginga john 268
Thought i'd just add to the confusion !! here is a quick pic of a dog i got earlier in the year, he's supposed to be harcombe x middleton on the dogs side and nuttal x middleton on the bitch's side, but as he was a return for a pup i passed on a few years back he may well be doormat x toilet brush - who really knows!! anyway he seems to be the sort that is being spoken about, he's 14 to the shoulder, spannable, quite light in the frame, and a touch leggy looking, he's also incredibly slow to come on, is now 18 months and has only just started to get his nose down, rats and a squirrel fettish aside, he has only just started to show any interest in going to ground. heres a not very good pic. sanglier 2
He does look tall. It has been said that the slower dog learns his trade well and at 18 months he hasn't missed the boat yet. Quote Link to post
sanglier 2
Did it have a docked tail ? No his tail wasn't docked strange phenomenon he was born with a short tail !!!!! seems to be happening more and more just lately. Quote Link to post
CumbrianJack 2
Like these type? Had a white one too but he's long gone to another home now. Edited September 23, 2007 by CumbrianJack Quote Link to post
Pignut 4
Well these are my two and, before I get laughed out of this thread, they are both Patterdales. The first is definitely a patterdale and her full sister looks like the short-haired black one and so do all her litter mates. The second one is a "rescue", so who knows. Maybe a hint of Scottie dog in him for the ears. Keep looking - finding the right pup is always fun. Pignut Quote Link to post
