I think this is sorted now, the bitch has broken down today and we have got 1 dog to see, 1 possible and 1 lined up to use as a stud if all falls through.

I am giving this topic a bump today as the bitch is in season again and he is still looking for a 3/4 Greyhound 1/4 Saluki to put over her. I know its a long shot, I have told him myself hardly anyone uses this type of dog, most coursing lurchers are linebred or just saluki lurcher x saluki lurcher over generations, but heres hoping. So if someone out there has one, either out a first cross back to a straight grey or out a generation bred saluki/grey to a straight grey please get in touch. Distance and fee arent a problem

I think whats bothering him TC is cos he bred the bitch before with her half brother and the litter threw very saluki-fied and they were too slow for up here. As you know the saluki gene is a strong one, you dont need much saluki in a dog for it to show its traits. Hes hoping if he uses a dog with a small percentage of saluki and a higher percentage of greyhound he might eliminate some of the litter wastage. I know there is some good line bred saluki lurchers at stud, but he doesnt seem that keen on using one, I think its a case of a bad experience puts you off. Its been suggested to put a greyhound over the bitch, but she isnt lacking in speed, so the breeding probably wouldnt benefit him, hes looking for a similar type of dog, fast, can stay, not too much saluki, to suit the type of running up here and the style of dog he likes, hope that explains a bit better

i can understand where sankys coming from sarah ....i think sankys just going to line breed with his own stuff...if the lad is really struggling i will let him use my munchy......its just a one off mind you..... ........and the fee will be a thousand pounds...
