Pet rabbit killer !.

Myself and another forum member went to have a look around a few small paddocks to look for a fox that has ripped open a cage and killed the farmers daughters pet rabbit! .The nights recently are very light and still ,too still for my liking but youve got to show willing as you all know .The farmer described the fox as being a large dog with a good white tip to the tail,as seen by his wife .The land here slopes away to a railway so we got ourselves to the brow and knelt down ,using a fence line as a backdrop .I squeaked whilst josh looked around with the lamp .I expected one to appear on the skyline of the brow but luckily it appeared down the far left corner of the field we were in .It was running to us nicely so just a quiet squeak to give it some direction.Something wasnt right and it did a U turn in one fluid movement and headed out the back door .I wasnt about to have that so squeaked loudly and managed to stop it long enough for a shot with the .243 ,off the bipod .At the shot it span round to bite at its chest and rolled twice to lay still .Squeaked again for a while but nothing showed .Josh picked it up at 90 paces .A good size dog with a white tip?.Back to farm and heard a vixen calling in the yard .Will wait to see if any more stock is taken before patting myself on the back! .
