Gooner 143
One of my Jill's today seems very lethargic, and unsteady on her feet, also tummy seems to be bloated. She is quite old maybe 8 or 9 years, was ok yesterday just wondered could she have had a stroke? Have been giving her water which she drinks, not sure what to do she shares hutch with another any ideas? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to post
Huan72 687
Get her to the vets, could be a whole host of things. Remember a ferrets digestive tract is short as they live on a high protein diet so any blockage or other digestive problem is going to have a negative effect on her really quickly. A bloated abdomen can also indicate heart issues and fluid retention. Definitely need a trip to the vets . Good luck whatever the result. 1 Quote Link to post
Gooner 143
Well just got back from vets minus one ferret. Diagnosis was that there was an abnormality in tummy and they could x ray but she may not come through anaesthetic other alternative pts. Gutted as was a good worker. Quote Link to post

jennym 39
Sorry to hear your sad news. I've had both hobs and jills over the years and the ferrets in general, once they become ill go downhill rapidly. All the best. Quote Link to post
