Whats The Right Age To Start Working Your Terrrier?

hi fellas just looking for some feedback on what age would be suitable to work your terrier.

iv got a 2 dogs hedge who is 2

and tan my bitch whos 7months and is keen as mustard. i started hedge when he was about 14 months,he started slow but came into his own a month or two later and works really well now and has never looked back. This bitch is something else theirs a different rat in mouth everyday always clue'd in when were on a day trip and really eager. let me no your thoughts they would be much appreciated.

I think everybody as a different thought about this I think when they are young take them out as much as you can and let them watch and then I think you will no when it's time to try them I also think it depends how mature the dog is aswell sometimes they will self enter and not look back I have a patterdale pup which I'm going to take out with me as much as I can and let him see as much as I can and I'm going to do that until he is about 14 months old and then let him go a little bit more like try him in a small shallow set see how he handles it and carry on from there really and let him watch the good experienced dogs like the ones that you would only keep in your own kennels mate but that's just my opinion mate

There's many a terrier ruined by "to much too soon" you won't spoil a terrier by leaving it a bit later to enter it, but you could well ruin it by being in a hurry.

and it might even turn into a yapper now we wouldent want that in are kennle would we Edited by gonetoearth
