ChrisJones 7,975
More than likely... but it's the first time I've read of a self defense shooting case where the guy defending himself isn't the one being dragged over the coals.

Born Hunter 17,952
It's my view that any respectable British citizen should have the right to posses a shotgun for the explicit purpose of home defense. Shotguns are acceptable for sporting use, the use of weapons is acceptable for home defense and the use of a sporting shotgun is acceptable for defense. So why people can't own a shotgun for the sole purpose of defense is beyond me...

Born Hunter 17,952
The British Government flat out refuse to acknowledge the sensible because it's the the thin end of a thick wedge of gun derestriction! As we know when it comes to gun legislation the wedge only ever points one way..... in the direction of more draconian gun laws! If they allowed shotguns for home defense, then a fair case could be made for 5... 8... even 12 shot pump actions, further still a good case could be made for large caliber pistols. That's just a path our leaders aren't willing to go down.

The thing is we have a right to defend ourselves, and that isn't something that a government should be able to control.
