All done and dusted today, Webster. Had it in bits for a service and fitted a new-ish spring taken from Simon's 97 that was left over after fitting one of SFS's kits . An old .177 barrel that originally was fitted to my 90 when I first got it with some random moderator that was kicking about stuck on the end. A very consistant 11.3 ft-lbs and topped off with my old and trusted Leapers 2-7x32 scope. The EB 4x32 now sits nicely on Toby's very much fettled Hatstand 55S and I'm going to try the Nite Eye on my 90 and hope that it doesn't break another Hawke scope. I've not had much luck with them before so finger's crossed.

 

Weather permitting we're all going out on Monday so I'll take some pics and one way or another I'll get them up on here.

Just picked this up Andy you are more than welcome pal. I hope it makes as fine a rifle for you and the boys as it was for me. She's a great workhorse rifle this HW80K.

PS I haven't jumped ship...I just want to enjoy another side of shooting that everyone else does. Namely multi shot capability.. I'm forever a spring rifle disciple as these I own will outclass a PCP in my hands!

Are we going to have a chance to meet up before you and Helen move? Your place or mine, it'd be nice to have a proper go with your Daystate and I can show you what I've done with your old action. It'll never be as nice as your other but it's not come up too bad.

 

Edit to add.... It's responded well to a de-tune and seems to prefer the .177 barrel that I've fitted. It's lost a lot of the harshness that it had before.
