Think you need to look at what I have posted? you need to put the effort in and find the best time on your own permission? every permission will be different.

My 7 year old son said the same thing.."Dad wait till the rabbits are out" That was a good thing to say for a kid.

 

When do go lamping?

 

 

 

Good grief, what I am saying is the time the rabbits are active on one of my permissions is around 6.30 at this time of year and yet on another of my permissions there is no point in turning up until midnight. Your permission could be one of these or it could be completely different, you need to go to your permission at different times of the night and see what time is most productive on yours.

I was going to head out about 6pm but something came up grrrrr

My plans now are a dawn raid..an hour before light just to see what these little rabbits are up to

did we miss 'at night' ?

 

there isnt a set time that i know of, starts when ever you choose then its a keep in touch thing by going at all times as they change habbits.

Thanks for the reply.

 

I like to go about 11pm if I have no work next day..then stay out a couple hours...

I went 5am this morning and I won't be doing that again.

I went out lamping for the first time the other night one one of my permisions didnt see anything got there at 6 pm on the neighbours land thought id see what was about just shine the lamp and that field was full lol

Typical!!! Aye it's obvious to me now that it's just get out there and put the groundwork in so to speak. Even if I just go without the gun.

Aye I jumped in without thinking, I thought just have a nose round see where and when the rabbits are, but I may see 50 rabbits sitting ready to be took out..and there's me with no gun!!

Lamping for rats has to be my favorite... fast and furious... had a 40+ night at a small holding in Chirbury.. An old dear bred rare breed chickens and the place was riddled with rats. like a scene from Im a celebrity get me out of here!!

WE start about ten pm do a lap then you see a lot of rabbits coming out at one am its as if somebody opened the doors and if the goings good we lamp till five am , if it's quiet we just do a couple of laps and head for home
