Oliver St.John 2
I collect this pattern - it was originally made by Crown Staffordshire (some reports of it being around in the 20s) but was definitely around in the 70s. Some have the Queensberry backstamp. Really old ones have hand-painted colours on the horses and riders and these are worth having. Then Coalport took over - some of the bits are quite nice but in the late 90's Wedgwood took over and their awful 'modern' shapes were used. In the 80s and 90s Robert Horne (Paper Manufacturer) gave away pieces to staff and customers so there are a lot of pieces from this era including a Millennium clock. Some bits are still made for the Japanese market - seconds are available on eBay. Needless to say it is popular in the USA... Oliver
Oliver St.John 2
And here's a link to the actual costs (in green) achieved on eBay - some people think it's worth a bit more than it actually is: completed items Certainly values have increased in the last 10 years - stuff that I was buying for less than a fiver in 2001 is actually selling around the £10-£15 mark now. I really like the 1 pint mugs and the 1 pint cups'n'saucers - they can sell for £20 - £40. I have a Crown Staffordshire toast rack and a Coalport toast rack - they sell for 100s of $ in the USA. But one just sold for $15 in Australia - missed that!
