holy grail 0
Hi HGthats a good hall of foxes and a good day out what were you using to do the flushing I use to keep a coulpe of fox hounds for that job they seemed to work well. made anywhere pretty uncomfortable for any game to stay. A hall like that would have put a smile on the Cockies dial. Stevemac sure is a good day out. never been able to get half as much as that after that day. nah we just use a whole lot of people on motorbikes with heaps of dogs to do the flushing. as i said, its a good day out with friends. sometimes we will get 30 people out and have more dogs than people. ranging from jack russells through to stags and now deerhounds. i have been out with fox hounds before and i think they have an unbelievable scense of smell. if it weren't for the group sizes on our hunts i'd probably have got a scent hound. but with that many people and dogs there's really no need. Dan Edwards 1,134
The door is always open boys. I never read the thread cuz it was comical to me but yall can come see the difference anytime ya unto. Not the Deerhounds of old though. Sorry to come off like a dick but thats not what I meant. The Deerhounds and Wolf hounds of old got my vote but not the ones of today. Aint nobody can convince me of that shit neither. Edited May 12, 2010 by Dan Edwards 1 Quote Link to post
Kye 77
Staghound, Staghound, Staghound,...for me EVERYTIME! Ive seen deerhounds, and there hybrids run, and LOVE them...thats part of why i like a good coat on a Stag, the type just appeals to me....i know one thing, there isnt any derrhound alive that can kill coyotes, draw coon, lamp rabbits, and course hares, hunt and kill fox etc like a GOOD stag!....if there was, we wouldnt have staghounds would we!?!?!...lol. IMO, the REAL staghound IS the Wolf/Deerhound of old....modern stuff is just not upto it...imo, the right stag, to the BEST modern deerhound would be f*****g awesome!... I heard of a litter that being bred, that is basicly what a real Wolfhound should be,...a real old time pioneers dog!...if i can get any pics, i will have that twat up in Dwight IL post 'em for you boys!..lol.
