redhob 0
Hi all, first post, i am looking for another way to catch rabbits in thick hedges, purse nets are a none starter, double fences etc i used to be able to shoot the rabbits but times have changed where i supply dont want shot gun rabbits no more. i have never long netted before, on reading posts on long netting or stop nets in my case i think, what is the differance between a traditional and trammel stop net, what is the quickest to set and lift, better catcher.i have read posts from netrigger and tiercel, experts and craftsmen in this field, as i am sure there are many more on here.any advice please.redhob Quote Link to post

Shamo 319
If we are working awkward Hedges and lots of undergrowth, we net the runs in and out of the Holes and through the Fences. The Rabbits are like Rats, they run their familiar runs and usual points of entry and exit. If long enough we cut a narrow path up across the Hedge and use Hedge Nets that I make. This cuts the Hedge into sections making it easier, they run the tops of the Hedges too. Remember the 7 'Ps' and do all your cutting and stomping about on a day you are not working those Warrens.
