mybrainhurts 23
I just feed my ferrets the normal dry ferret food from the petshop and I've been thinking of giving them little treats so last night I gave them a couple of boiled eggs between them and I've just bought some day old chicks, and what I've read a couple of DOC's a week is ok as a treat but would that mean if I've gave them eggs one wk I can't give them the DOC's that week as treats I'll have to wait till next week ?? The one 8,593
Too many eggs causes there hair to fall out so you will see it happening , but if you want to give them a treat try asda or tesco's and buy a box of chicken wings and some liver but just give them the liver once a week as well Quote Link to post
ferreterni 29
Something to look into, pet ferret food. Is near on exactly the same make up as kitten food. And a hell of a lot dearer. Quote Link to post
mybrainhurts 23
The eggs will once in a blue moon but the DOC's will most prob be once or twice a wk. I know a fella who goes shooting so am gonna see if he will pass me the odd woodie and hopefully when the ferrets are ready we'll catch a rabbit or too . I keep seeing people say about cat/kitten food but I'll stick to the one's made for ferrets , am new to keeping ferrets and I don't mind paying a bit extra if I have too. Thanks everyone for the advice , much appreciated Quote Link to post

DOC's are not eggs and have flesh, bone and other goodies in them. Feeding both is fine in same week, I and many others do it no problems yet They also get woodies, rabbit or supermarket meat depending on my mood Quote Link to post
